HOPE FOR GRIEVING FAMILIES
Our mission is to support and connect grieving families with children in the Greater DC area. We are different from other grief support organizations as we focus on providing fun, family-oriented events, as well as a network of support for families who have experienced a loss of a close family member. We also help connect families with agencies that provide grief counseling and professional services.
We are adding fun events all the time for your family to meet and connect with other families who also have suffered a loss. We WELCOME you and your children to join us for fun-filled experiences!
DAYS FOR GIRLS
Days for Girls advances menstrual equity, health, dignity and opportunity for all. We transform periods into pathways.
We increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating Social Enterprises, mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigma and limitations for women and girls.
Cost-effective, safe, sustainable and contextually relevant products help women and girls manage their periods and engage in livelihood activities.
Access to timely, factual information about puberty and menstruation can lead to increased body literacy, a healthy public perception of menstruation and decreased stigma and shame.
Menstrual health and hygiene are critical factors in improving education opportunities and livelihood outcomes for women, girls and people with periods worldwide.
BRITEPATHS
Britepaths provides short-term safety-net services to our neighbors in need while empowering them to work toward long-term self-sufficiency. We deliver our services with respect, compassion, and equity, always preserving the dignity and self-esteem of our clients.
At Britepaths…
We seek to learn the unique circumstances of each client, and craft solutions with the whole person in mind. As we guide others towards self-sufficiency, we accept that teaching others means nurturing self-awareness in ourselves.
We embrace our differences and see them as a source of strength.
We commit to individual and organizational efforts to nurture respect, compassion, dignity, equity, and self-esteem for each member of our community – inclusive of staff, clients, and supporters.
We value and respect our neighbors regardless of race, gender, age, sexuality, ability, religion, national origin, and gender identity.
We champion individual efforts, build community engagement, and challenge institutional constraints that deny any person the right to live and thrive.
We know that we are at our best when we see ourselves in each other.
